Is it crazy to suggest that they start…(wait for it, wait for it)… CHARGING REAL MONEY (as opposed to hugs and rainbows) TO USE PANDORA? I know they already have a freemium model, encouraging upgrades to “Pandora One” for $36/year. But maybe we’ve finally reached a point where companies have to get a little more aggressive on the “-mium” part of the equation, to prevent a beloved service from going away? Easier said than done, sure. But when I see a company hemorrhaging money with one paid product that seems to be underpriced (at least based on the few Pandora devotees I spoke to), I can’t help but wonder if/when they’ll stand up and say “yo dude, these waffles don’t make themselves.” (via)
